About us

Scout Enterprises is a Bristol based charity established in 1984 to help improve “quality of life” in communities. We thrive on innovative ideas and the development of new challenges, and are now entering a new era with volunteering. We hope to bring fresh ideas along with a wealth of experience to our new concepts based on creative arts, environment and music.

Maggie

Job description: Project Manager

What do you do around the place: I consume a lot of coffee and can often be seen outside having a sneaky cigarette. Mainly I oversee the day to day running and development of the project, and of course ensure it's survival!

Likes: Loves animals, I am vice president of a Greek animal rescue charity: Cretan cat-a-list. Also love renovating old buildings and all things creative.

Dislikes: Greed and cruelty to animals

Favourite Record/Song/Artist: I’m too old to list all my favourites, it would take weeks. My tastes are as varied as The Incredible String Band (old hippy stuff) to Dancehall reggae with lots inbetween.

Major Inspirations: William Morris said: “Have nothing in your life, that is not either beautiful or practical”. Oh, and my Mum.

One thing you want to do before you die: I want to design and build an eco house in the country, be self sufficient and have my own studio.

What do you do around the place: I raise the money to run the programmes and pay the staff

Job description: Studio Assistant

What do you around the place: Assist in the studio, play guitar AKA "Sessioning". Occasionally climb into my own shoe.

Likes: The Blues, cider, wine, guitars, amps. Feeding tofu to the Dolphins in the fridge.

Dislikes: Blue drinks

Favourite Record/Song/Artist: Far to many to mention but I will mention Hubert Sumlin and BB King.

Major Inspirations: All the blues guys, old and new.
