Art History

Past Workshops (we may run them again – let us know if you’re interested!)

My Vision
Volunteers created a patchwork wall hanging depicting their messages and stories. A range of textiles crafts such as felt making, embroidery and patchwork were taught.

Card Making for Charity
Volunteers created a collection of greeting cards. All cards were sold to raise money for the charity 'Unseen'

Street Art
This project aimed to teach local volunteers about the art of graffiti. Volunteers then demonstrate their new skills by producing a piece of street art decorating Orange Street Creative Studios

Felt Making
A group of volunteers were taught felt making in order to transform Orange Street Creative Studios into a welcoming and inviting art space for young people. ‘Felt Making’ became so successful that Orange Street ran the project for 12 months.

Felt Christmas Decorations
Around Christmas time a growing number of volunteers wanted to learn how to create cheap but lovely presents for family and friends. A felt workshop was designed
showing volunteers how to turn old pieces of felt, buttons and beads into beautiful
Christmas presents and tree decorations.

Peace Patch Work
International Peace Day September 2009 encouraged volunteers to design and explore their ideas of ‘peace’ with the aim of creating a ‘Peace Blanket’ to exhibit at International Peace events.
