Art Opportunities


"Manic Ceramics" – Learn ceramics while helping the community.
Orange Street Creative Studios are introducing a new pottery workshop 3 days a week in our ceramics studio based in Horfield.

You will learn basic techniques in our introduction to ceramics including coiling, hand building, throwing and glazing techniques. The workshops will be run by local artists and volunteers to create artworks for the community. There are also opportunities to help facilitate ceramic workshops at our ‘outreach visits’ at various day care centres.

5 Full Time positions available for 30 hours per week for 12 weeks (not all hours need to be on site)
This is an ongoing project with new starts every Monday.


‘Vintage Fashion Favours’ 
Orange Street Creative Studios are looking for a group of young people to help us recycle old fabrics and revamp clothes.

New techniques will be taught through out the weeks such as basic hand stitching, embroidery, patchwork and quilting, appliqué, pattern cutting and how to use a sewing machine.

This project is suitable for all abilities and perfect for anyone with time and enthusiasm for creative
community fun!

8 Full Time positions available for 30 hours per week for 12 weeks (not all hours need to be on site)

Starts 21st September


Music Opportunities

"Pro Music Mission" - Free Music Production Project for 16 – 25 year olds.
No experience required.
Learn what it takes to work in a professional music studio.
Over 12 weeks, training will be delivered in music technology leading to real experience in a community enterprise music business.

You will be involved in all aspects of production from creating live beats to lyrics, then recording and editing to professional standards. The studio uses Logic and Reason recording programs.

This is a one off fantastic experience for young people and will benefit other community organisations with the production of their audio marketing.

 

10 Full Time positions available. This project requires a commitment of 30 hours a week, spread out in-house studio and off site work.

Starts 27th September.

 


No experience is necessary for any of our projects; you just need enthusiasm and the ability to enjoy your challenge.
